Competent Communication


I have a friend who exhibits competent communication at her job. When communicating her face is very expressive and she enunciates her words. She is also a very good listener. I would like to model some of her communication behaviors. Sometimes when I get very excited I gesticulate but I don’t say my words clearly, this hampers communication.

    Hi Karina,

    Sometimes I talk too quietly. I am also much better at organizing what I say when I write than when I speak. I am also much more nervous in person. I guess I have some work to do.

    Karina,
    I understand what you are saying. I use hand gestures a lot when I communicate and I stutter sometimes which makes me not want to speak in front of others. I have a heavy southern dialect and that does not make my speech clear. I was born and raised in the city of Chicago, but my parents are from the south and I guess that is where I picked up my language.
